On Saturday February 11, 2012, Whitney Houston was found dead at the Beverley Hilton Hotel in Beverley Hills, Los Angeles. With her passing, the world has lost a genuine music and fashion icon, a woman adored world-over for nearly three decades.
In the early 1980’s, Houston began her career as a singer and model. Her over the top charisma and charmed natural beauty drew camera lenses with ease, and in no time she was gracing the pages of top-tier publications such as Seventeen, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan. As her singing career soared, she retained at all times a keen eye for dazzling presentation. According to Vogue’s Annette Lin, Houston’s style was “pure glamour,” a singer who “glistened, pulling off even the brash fashions of the 1980s with class and panache.”
